I see the camera as a transformative tool for exploring different layers. I'm interested in the analogies between the language of inner growth and imagery. “A man sets out to draw the world. As the years go by, he peoples a space with images of provinces, kingdoms, mountains, bays, ships, islands, fishes, rooms, instruments, stars, horses, and individuals. A short time before he dies, he discovers that the patient labyrinth of lines traces the lineaments of his own face.” Jorge L. Borges. I was born in 1985 in Hoorn, right at the Lake IJssel, in the northwest of the Netherlands. After an academic studies in psychology I continued studying art. Contact me if you have ideas for collaborations, commissions, to purchase a print, or just to connect!

  • MOVING THROUGH | annaswagerman

MOVING THROUGH 2021 / photobook / 28 pages Available at Motto Berlin . The evenings are all about waiting for the blue. Indigo of the night. Slowly the details of the day dissappear. Seeing the salty eyelashes of my friend seems like a distant memory. Maybe at the end of the day it was all not so important. Just moments. Just being here, no coming no going. Watching, feeling the life MOVING THROUGH. Crazy blue.

  • SESSIONS | ANNA SWAGERMAN

PHOTO SESSIONS: SECOND NATURE I offer sessions where photography is used as a tool for exploring more of the self. With a background in psychology and social work and an innate curiosity and compassionate heart I love to 'see' you. The process of taking pictures is an opportunity to observe and embrace all parts of ourselves. I work with people from all walks of life. We can create images together for your professional projects, intimate moments, but above all for the joy of the experience. Connecting with yourself and the surroundings. All photographs come from experiencing life together, not from directing. Contact me if you want to explore the possibilities together. With Anna, Amorgos (GR) 'In the evening sea.' With Anna, Amorgos (GR) 'Taking the stage'. With Svetlana, Amorgos (GR). Your hugs felt so warm that you must've come from far. 'On a mission'. With Anna, Amorgos (GR) 'Intention'. With Anna, Amorgos (GR) 'Touchstone'. With Anna, Amorgos (GR). We carry the same name and traits. Maybe I'm also melting down my perfectionism like you did. 'Precipitate'. With someone I love, Salobreña (ES) You, me and three cats in one room during a long tropical winter. A home with pink flowers and mist in my mind. 'New phase', with Jakob, Berlin (GE) Thank you for trusting me. With Anna, Amorgos (GR) Your eyes speak focus.
